Your first share

This walks through the command line. The desktop app does the same things from a window and a right-click menu.

Terminal window
s2u login

That opens a browser and authenticates this machine. Signing in is what associates shares with your account, gives you a quota, and lets other devices receive from you. You do not need it for direct transfers over your own network, which work with no account at all.

Terminal window
$ s2u rca.md
Link: s.share2.us/7Kf9aQ2m

The file is uploaded and you get a link. It is opaque: nothing in it reveals the file name, your account, or how many other shares exist.

Terminal window
$ s2u get s.share2.us/7Kf9aQ2m
saved to ./rca.md

You can pass the whole link or just the identifier. Anyone with the link can do this, which is the point, and also the thing to be deliberate about.

Terminal window
s2u ls
Terminal window
s2u revoke 7Kf9aQ2m

Revoking is immediate. The link stops working for everyone, including people who already have it open.
